Strawberry Chip cookies
Oozing flavor, soft and chewy middle, almost crispy edges, delightfully delicious that make your eyes brighten up in awe with the first bite of the cookie melting in your mouth - That is how you define a perfect cookie.
Here is a perfect Strawberry Chip cookie recipe you'll fall in love with. We are vegetarian and so the cookies are eggless and also conscious about what we eat, so I used wheat flour. You are free to explore your way because cooking is all about experimenting and enjoying. But I assure you, this is the best recipe that has been tested, tasted and loved!
Ingredients:
- Salted Butter - 1/2 cup
- Oil (Vegetable or any flavorless oil) - 1 tablespoon
- Wheat flour/All-purpose flour - 2 cups
- Dried strawberries - a few cut into small cubes
- Brown Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
- Baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon
- Water - 1 tablespoon
Method:
Any baking has just 3 steps. Mix all dry ingredients together. Mix all wet ingredients together. Mix the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and pop it into the oven. This is the base for any baking. Be it cake, muffin, bread or cookie.
Step 1: In a bowl, combine wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda together. Add nicely diced dry strawberries to this and coat all the strawberries.
Step 2: In another bowl, combine room temperature butter, sugar, brown sugar, oil, and water together and whisk. Whisk. Whisk. Beat it till it becomes thick and the sugar is finely blended with the butter.
Step 3: Combine the dry ingredients and the wet ingredients and gently fold till it forms a dough. P.S :Do not overdo.
Step 4: Line a baking tray with parchment paper and evenly place scoops of the cookie dough on it leaving enough place of the dough to spread.
Step 5: Preheat the oven at 375 °F for 8-10 minutes. Now place the baking tray and set the oven at 375 °F for 14 minutes.
Tips:
1. Leave the cookies in the tray for 2-3 minutes before removing if you like chewy cookies like us.
2. To know if your cookies are done, try gently lifting one corner. If your cookie does not fold in, they are done.
3. Proportion is the key. If you add more butter/oil, the cookies will spread and become thin. If you add more flour, the cookies are going to be hard.
