Berry Sundae

Berry Sundae

Berries are colorful, vibrant, and anti-oxidant rich. My recipe here is a very conscious version with no egg (because we are vegetarians), no sugar (white sugar is harmful), and no cream (the fat comes from milk, but fewer calories and cholesterol). Instead, I used overripe bananas and honey. This is a healthier way to satisfy your craving.  Try this healthy and tasty recipe with simple ingredients. I topped it with some homemade crushed cookies and honey. Check homemade strawberry chip cookies in my posts. Cooking is about experimenting and enjoying.. so feel free to add your twist! Remember. The key to great tasting food is balancing flavors.

Ingredients:

  • Mixed berries - 1 cup
  • Overripe banana - 1
  • Vanilla essence (optional)
  • Full-fat milk - 1/2 cup
  • Honey
  • Honey, crushed cookies, nuts or dry fruits for topping

Method:

  • In a blender, add the berries, banana, vanilla essence, milk, honey and blend till smooth.
  • Pour it into a freezer-friendly container and freeze.
Tips:
  • To get very soft ice-cream, thaw the frozen ice-cream in room temperature, blend it again and freeze.
  • The riper the banana, the sweeter the taste.
  • Sugar can be added instead of banana and honey.
